Direct notice to parents
Read this notice before authorising Kito to process information for a child under 13.
Who is collecting the information

What we ask you to provide
- A child's first name or nickname and birth year.
- School material you choose to upload for that child.
- The child's answers, corrections, progress, rewards and chosen buddy.
- A device authorisation and, only if you opt in, a push-notification token.
Why we collect it
We use the information to create grounded questions, deliver short practice rounds, adapt later practice to concepts that need another look, show progress to the parent and protect the account. We do not use it for advertising, tracking across apps or public profiles.
Teacher class invitations
A verified teacher may send you a private class link or backup code. Only you can choose a child and authorise that class. You may inspect assigned games, pause future delivery or disconnect the class at any time. Separately, you may choose whether the child's activity contributes to anonymous class totals. Teachers never receive names or individual histories, and totals remain hidden until at least five learners participate.
Where processing happens
Supabase hosts the account and learning system. Google Cloud Document AI extracts text. Anthropic creates and checks grounded questions. Expo may deliver reminders after parent opt-in. RevenueCat and the app stores manage purchase status. Details are on the Subprocessors page.
Your choices
You may decline. If you decline, do not create or pair a child profile. If you consent, you can later review the child's information, stop collection, revoke a device, inspect or disconnect teacher classes, disable anonymous class totals, export data or delete the child or family account from Kito Parent.
How consent is verified
The public version records the notice version, parent account, method and time used to verify parental consent before child information is collected. Private testers are invited adults using test children they are authorised to manage. Kito will not open public child enrolment until its verifiable-parental-consent method is activated.
What you confirm
Before a child profile is added, the adult separately confirms that they are at least 18 and legally authorised to consent for the child, that they received and read this notice and the Privacy Policy, that they consent to the described collection and use, and that they consent to the integral disclosures to the listed service providers solely to operate Kito.
